Jeff Otts is one of the dedicated anglers helping get The Razoryak Tournament Trail Central Arkansas circuit off the ground. As a member of the Kayak Bass Anglers of Central Arkansas he is lucky enough to fish some of the best bass water in the state. With his recent victory he added his name to a list of elite anglers that have already reserved a spot at the first Arkansas State Kayak Fishing Championship event on Lake Atkins this fall.
Name: Jeff Otts
Home Lake: Grew up fishing Catherine, DeGray, and Ouachita.
Favorite technique: Fishing a Grub
Event Won: RTT Central Arkansas - Lake Degray presented by the KBA
Describe your victory: Was on a great floating worm bite the weekend before the tourney. Easter Sunday my best 5 were over 90 inches. The rain dirtied up my water, so that was shot. Went back to the grub, and that paid off.
What got you into kayak fishing?: Got into kayak fishing after floating in canoes for 10+ years. Had fished big boat tourneys since I was a kid goin with my dad. Fishing out of the kayak changes it up quite a bit, but so far, I'm lovin it! Especially after winning my 2nd tourney out of one.
Tips for a beginning tournament angler: ... FISH! As often as you can. Its just like anything else. The more you do it, the better you become.
